Indiana Freedom Trails Quarterly Meeting
April 7, 2012, 11:00-1:00pm

Guest Speaker: Deanda Johnson, Midwest Regional Coordinator,
NPS National Underground Railroad Network To Freedom
   Since 2010, Deanda Johnson has served as the Midwest Regional Coordinator
for the National Underground Railroad Network to Freedom Program
headquartered in Omaha, NE. Before joining with the National Park Service,
she was the coordinator of the African American Research and Service
Institute at Ohio University where she was involved in a large scale
research project with African American descendant communities that had ties
to the Underground Railroad. In 2004, she received her MA in African
American Studies from the College of William and Mary. She is currently
working on completing her Ph.D.

Deanda will speak about Researching the Underground Railroad and the
Network to Freedom Application process.
