5. Genealogical Society of Marion County

When Jerry Pierce and I founded the Genealogical Society of Marion County in 1995, we hoped that it would continue on after our era, and I am glad to see that is so. GSMC has the best collection of Marion County-specific genealogy materials in the state. Their library is in the Crown Hill Cemetery Waiting Station at W34th St. and Boulevard Place on the Westside. Note that library hours are limited, but you can contact them for special visits.
They just migrated to a much-improved website [Go to www.genealogyindy.org] and are populating it as time and volunteers permit.
Additional donations of Marion County materials are always welcome--and are tax-deductible! Congrats to Mike Method and his hard-working staff for continuing a good job.
