One of the ongoing problems with ordering microfilm from the Family History Library has always been that the Family History Centers are limited in hours and locations. If you are a daytime worker bee, getting there can be a real pain.
That problem is being addressed with the Affiliated Libraries Program, whereby local public libraries can sign up to receive LDS microfilm, and local researchers can then view it during all of their better hours and sites.

I checked with the Indiana State Library and they have no immediate plans to sign up with the FHL. The Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library knew nothing about the program when I inquired there. I did fill out a suggestion form asking them to become an Affiliate, so keep your fingers crossed. I will spread the word if I hear something. [Sigh...so many problems, so little time...]
