132. A Happy Genealogy Story

A friend of my spouse related this story to her the other day:

Joe and Joan took a quick trip to Missouri this week. As they were passing through Illinois, they stopped at the former home of Joan's grandparents. The current owners saw them looking at the house and came out to question them.
When Joe told them that Joan's grandparents were the original owners of the house, they responded with, "Have we got something for you! Please come on in."
The current owners have lived in the house for thirty-seven years. Joan was very surprised and delighted when they showed her the high school diploma that her grandfather had earned in 1908. The new owners had discovered it in the house, framed it, and mounted it on their wall "because it was so old."
They handed it to Joan to take home.

[Why don't things like that ever happen to me?]
