171. New Indiana Pioneers Program

The Society of Indiana Pioneers is in the midst of an interesting program of highlighting some of the original residents of Indiana. They started the program a couple of years ago by selecting a group of counties and developing mini-biographies of several folks in those counties. The Pioneers intend to cover all 92 counties by the Bicentennial in 2016.
Each year at their annual conference, which I've been attending as a guest of my Significant Other, they hand out a booklet of that year's group. Looks like the completed program will be a great resource for genealogists. You might stop by the SIP area in the State Library and see if any of your ancestors are included yet.
