95. Daughters of the Union

   Lineage societies can be extremely useful tools in the genealogist's toolbox. Millions of proven ancestors can be found in the files of these groups. [Disclaimer: I am a member of several lineage groups, including the Sons of the American Revolution and the Civil War Families of Ohio.]
   The NSDU is one such group, and their oldest operating Chapter is right here in Indianapolis, Indiana! If you have a Civil War ancestor or a collateral relative, and of course are female, you are eligible to join.
   They just held their 2012 National Congress in Gettysburg, PA, and seem to be a growing organization, as half their Chapters were organized in the 21st century. If you are interested, contact Sharon Kennedy at the below email address.
