248. Indy Source For Pre-1830 Ancestors

   A good Indianapolis source that I don't think is widely available is Marion County, Indiana, Pioneers Prior To June, 1830 by long time Indy genealogist Thelma Murphy.
   Now deceased, Thelma spent a lifetime looking into Indy residents in the early period of the area. Her work here is a three volume set of softbound pages in the Genealogy Division of the Indiana State Library. Look in the Marion County shelf area for three battered books, one large and two smaller ones, that contain some unique entries, listed alphabetically. The manuscript is typed with numerous handwritten updates and corrections.
