306. Good Resource On Underground Railroad
I was down at the Mooresville Public Library not long ago, and they were having a surplus book sale. I picked up several good resources for my library and for others. Among them was the following book about the pre-Civil War Underground Railroad in southern Indiana.
Such routes that crossed the river into Indiana usually continued right through the Marion County area and on into Canada. Anyway this book is chock full of names and places and hiding sites. If you have folks down south of here and they were Abolitionists, check this resource out. It's now in the Library of the Genealogical Society of Marion County.
