In the Star a few days ago was an artist's conception of what the current plan is for the space between the City-County Building and Washington Street. It's going to be a park-plaza area for the citizenry to rest and relax from their busy lives. Many Indy residents do not remember, or did not ever know, that this space formerly was the location of the courthouse itself. Take a look at the photo below. It was taken in the 1960's just before the old building was taken down. Cities are endlessly being recycled and reborn. Do you remember???
[As a genealogist, I was cynically wondering how many good records went to the dump instead of being transferred from the old to the new.]
