The Sons of the American Revolution has a new program up and running for patients, families, and staff of the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis. The new Operation Ancestor Search supplies genealogical workshop sessions and assistance at the Medical Center and two satellite locations. [Note: Prospective SAR membership is not the purpose of the program.]
The service is free to the above groups; all costs are covered by the SAR and the VA. Handouts are from the Indiana Society SAR and website connections are through the Roudebush Wi-Fi service. A limited number of donated Ancestry.com subscriptions are also available.
The schedule below covers the March-April time frame. Sessions may also be scheduled by appointment. SAR volunteers have laptops for attendee use during the schedule workshops.
If you or someone in your family or someone you know qualifies through being a Roudebush VA patient, family member, or staff member, just come to any of the sessions; no advance reservations are required. The SAR volunteers hope to see you there.
