Max Carpenter and I worked together at United Way and he gave me your contact information. While we worked together, Max mentioned he was very interested in genealogy. My 93 year old father has done extensive research on our family and has been using the Family Tree Maker program for several years. (By the way, my 93 year old dad still goes to his engineering job every day and drives his motorcycle to work downtown from Carmel when the weather is nice enough!). Dad’s health is suddenly changing and he wants to hand the information off to one of my cousins who is very interested in genealogy to take over the family history. Dad is having trouble accessing some of the discs which contain things like service records etc (I have tried to help to no avail) and also in adjusting the family chart which takes 144 pages to print because only 2 to 4 names show up on a page. Do you have any knowledge on this program that we could pay you for your time to help show my dad how to access the disks and also to make the chart shorter? Also, when he got this program, he lost 3 family history books created in the old program which seemed to disappear when he imported the information to the new system. If we could figure out how to recover those, it would be great. He was so sad to lose them.
Please let me know if you or someone you know may be able to help. We are willing to pay for the help.
Thank you for your time!
